Illusions is a body of work that I began in 2014, as a means to break out of my creative box. Little did I know, that I was on the edge of a four year journey what would take me from the coastal ranges of Oregon to the warm southern coast of Georgia, and back again. I would know untold sorrows and the greatest joys. I faced defeat, and rose again. I was lost, and I was found. These works, and those to follow, are a reflection of that journey. A journey back to myself, stripped away of my Illusions. My intent is to bridge the gap between illusion and what we perceive to be reality. To create a bridge between ego and nature, consciousness and subconsciousness. Reality itself is an illusion, one which we can shape and mold into our own creation. It is my hope that the experience of viewing this body of art will stir something within the viewer, something private and wholly theirs. I invite the viewer to "see" what they see, and not just what I ask them to see. ~ Heather Hagan
